Production Pipeline: LORDS OF THE MANOR

That’s right, the famed Potato Brothers are back for their biggest adventure ever: Lords of the Manor.

THE SCOOP: Tanya, John-Peter and Bernard find themselves in desperate need of cash when their latest get rich quick scheme fails, leaving them in debt to some very angry investors. Their solution? Walk right up to the biggest, fanciest house in town and ask for the money. And that house just happens to belong to Lord and Lady Devonshire, prim and proper aristocrats who have just ordered their service to send over three new butlers.

When the Potato Brothers show up they are immediately mistaken for the three butlers and, seizing the opportunity, the brothers take on the job. Working as butlers they’ll pay off their debt in no time. But things get complicated when the real butlers show up and mistake the Potato Brothers for the Devonshires. The Potato Brothers quickly become accustomed to leading a life of leisure, having all their whims catered to. Now all they need to do is keep the real Devonshires away from the real butlers, play both roles themselves, and they’ll be living in easy street. Oh, and they also have to clear the way for the orphan girl (the rightful heir to the Devonshire legacy) and the stable boy to be married.

THE SKINNY: The studio faces an uphill battle if they’re banking on name recognition with the Potato Brothers, particularly as their first feature (Send Money Now, 2001) was never released, not even on video. Still, if everything goes well this movie could be lord of the box-office this time next year.
